The rooms are gorgeous and air conditioned, though a bit worn out as the carpet in our suite had many water stains. Lovely rooftop. Location is central but busy/high traffic. Unfortunately, the guest services and reception left much room for improvement for an upscale hotel. Specifically, we had booked a water taxi - in person, in the lobby, through guest services who wrote down our request confirmation. The taxi was to take our family of 5 (with three small children) to the airport at 6:00 in the morning. The water taxi never showed and the gentleman at reception stated he had no record of our request. Further disappointing, there was no one else around and he did not do anything to help us try to find another way to the airport, even as we kindly pleaded for assistance as we would miss our flight. We had three small children and luggage making the other option to walk through the canals/bridges and to take much longer water bus ride was not an option. We had specifically worked with the hotel staff to arrange this service because we trusted them as it was in their concierge services welcome email offer as something they are able to do. It was incredibly disappointing to pay for a hotel branded as upscale and with a concierge service helping to facilitate, yet when it came to execution they were unable to do so. The outcome being 5 plane tickets to the U.S. risked due to their failure to execute. Next time, we will find a hotel chain other than Star Hotels where we know we know we trust to match their branded services.

Beautiful hotel with a great location. The staff was great even prior to my stay helping me arrange transfers and answering questions each time I emailed them. We were given a lovely upgrade! Book it!

The hotel is elegant and slightly understated (in a good way). Staff was professional, courteous and extremely helpful with bookings and advice. The breakfast buffet was a standout. The concierge recommended a private water taxi from the hotel’s dock to the airport and the high speed journey across the lagoon was a highlight. Strongly recommend.

The Splendid Venice did not disappoint. We set up direct drop off to the hotel which was great after a long day of travel. Breakfast in the hotel was just amazing, everyone was so helpful. Thank you so much for making our first trip to Venice so memorable.
